I’ve always enjoyed writing. I wrote my first story when I was 9, maybe 10, about my cat who I imagined as a visitor from the planet Prrrr. Influenced by Clive Barker, Stephen King, Tom Clancy, and Mike Royko I continued to shape my style but I shelved my writing dreams for later. After fighting forest fires for two seasons I joined the Air Force and never looked back.

I’m retired now, a disabled combat veteran who has the time to pick that dream up off the figurative bookshelf and dust it off.

I like to think of myself as a writer; I did some rugby coverage and I’ve written a silly thing or two here and there but I want to be an author.

I’ve had several false starts because Imposter Syndrome is a thing. This time I will write for me. I will write to create. I’ll will write my ones and zeros into the void if for no other reason than to speak in my voice. I will write.

My journey starts here, a safe space to practice the 3 E’s of creative writing; experimentation, exploration, & expression.

Thank you for stopping by. I know your time is precious.

A little more about me

The most inspirational words ever written or spoken to me regarding my writing came from my only creative writing professor Erin Flanagan. I only spent a few weeks in class before dropping out due to surgery but I got this…

Notes written about an assignment that became my short The Stone Man

Whenever I read it I feel my confidence return, I know I have what it takes to see my dream come true.
